AirAsia - #ToIDwithLove RELIEF FUND FOR INDONESIA | On September 28, 2018, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5Mw struck the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. The earthquake triggered a tsunami in the Makassar Strait, which swept into Palu Bay causing waves of up to 23m high in some parts. At least 1,900 people were killed while thousands more remain missing.

AirAsia recently launched a relief fund to provide support for Palu.

The #ToIDwithLove fund will be collecting donations from now until 31 October 2018. All donations will be chanelled to Yayasan Arkom Indonesia to help rebuild homes and improve disaster resilience in affected areas.

Those who wish to donate may do so online via AirAsia Foundation, the airline’s philanthropic arm, at airasiafoundation.com/relieffund.

AirAsia will also carry out phased onboard cash collections, beginning with AirAsia Malaysia (carried code AK), AirAsia Thailand (FD), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), AirAsia X Malaysia (D7), AirAsia X Thailand (XJ) and AirAsia X Indonesia (XT) flights from now until the end of the month, with more airlines in AirAsia Group to follow.

AirAsia will match the total public collection, which will be announced in January 2019.
