Commenting on the Group’s latest milestone, Mah Sing’s Founder and Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, said, “The grand opening of the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin marks another significant milestone for the Group as we make our first foray into the hospitality sector. We established the Ramada by Wyndham Meridin as we saw an opportunity to cater to the travellers who came to Iskandar, whether to enjoy the entertainment the state has to offer or to explore the vast opportunities that Johor has either for work or investment. In order to provide our guests with the best experience, we signed an agreement with Ramada by Wyndham to use the Ramada name for this hotel. Ramada by Wyndham is an established brand of hotels that travellers have come to associate with trust, quality and care. Thus, it gives me great honour to officiate the grand opening of Ramada by Wyndham Meridin, Mah Sing’s first hotel, the centrepiece of our development in Meridin@Medini.”
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts President and Managing Director of South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Ooi Joon Aun said, “Johor is no longer just a transit point for travellers but has quickly transformed into a tourism magnet and an economic engine for the country. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has a long-standing history in Malaysia, with an existing portfolio in key destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Melaka. We are delighted to be introducing yet another one of our hotels to Malaysia in a location as attractive as Johor Bahru. This marks our intent to stay vested in the country.”
