In conjunction with the festive celebrations at Sunway Big Box, exciting activities and captivating performances are also lined up until Feb 2 to hype up the festivities. The public can enjoy and participate in various weekend activities such as high pole acrobatic lion dance ushering in the Lunar New Year, God of Fortune meet & greet, CNY DIY workshops, CNY couplets writing giveaway, CNY goodies booths as well as mingling with the balloon clown. 

As for the children or young at heart, SpongeBob Squarepants will still be around to welcome everyone with even more events and activities, ranging from pedal boats, zorb balls, inflatable wall climbing, infinity room, indoor workshop & inflatable games, and not forgetting to meet and greet SpongeBob mascot up close and personal. The hybrid retail park will also see the opening of seven new tenants who will be part of the CNY celebrations, namely, the first Happy Fish Swim School centre, Mr. DIY, Chicken Rice Shop, Maxis, Max Fashion, Mode Brille Optometry and Da Shun Hang Herb. “We wanted to create something creative and an out-of-the-box experience to capture our shoppers’ hearts and, at the same time, preserve our traditions, that’s why we are keeping to the theme of family fun and engagement this year,” said Mr Allan Tay, Assistant General Manager, Southern Region - Sunway Big Box & Sunway Citrine Hub.

“Since our soft opening in December, the response has been very encouraging. With the celebratory mood and the Chinese New Year just around the corner, we expect shopping to be a priority with more retailers opening and offering attractive discounts,” he added.

With a catchment of 200,000 within 20 minutes of Sunway Iskandar, the development is the seventh retail development under the Sunway Malls umbrella that currently has 7.7 million square feet in net lettable area (NLA) under management. First of Its Kind Experiences

Sunway Big Box will host the first Happy Fish Swim School centre in Johor, complete with a 25- metre heated lap pool mainly for kids, while the 16,000 sqft EnerG X Park will offer adrenalin- pumping activities like Zip Line, Trampoline Wipeout, Ninja Obstacle Course and Wall-Climbing, among other physically challenging but fun activities. To encourage the joy of reading, the community will also be able to enjoy a 32,000 sqft BookXcess, the first in Johor, carrying over 1.5million books in its outlet, coming really soon.

Additionally, NSK will be offering wholesale goods at competitive prices while home improvement store SSF will showcase complete show units with different sizes, including a range of furniture that is suitable for Singapore’s Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat sizes. 

Sunway Big Box will be connected to adjacent KFC, located above Caltex, and Starbucks outlets with drive-through facilities via pedestrian bridges. The Burger King outlet will also feature a drive-through facility.
