MAH SING FOUNDATION DONATES RM50,000 TO TABUNG BENCANA NEGERI JOHOR FOR FRONT LINERS | Property developer, Mah Sing Group Berhad (Mah Sing) via its corporate responsibility arm, Mah Sing Foundation (MSF) has donated RM50,000 to the Tabung Bencana Negeri Johor for the purchase of personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare front liners.

The Menteri Besar of Johor Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Bin Mohammad received the pledge from Mah Sing’s Chief Operating Officer, Benjamin Ong. A part of the contribution will also be utilised to provide food supplies and medical aid to low income families and villagers in the Enhanced Movement Control Order areas like Kempas and Simpang Renggam.

Mah Sing’s Founder and Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, “The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected so many of us – especially our front liners who are keeping us safe by putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. Our RM50,000 contribution to the Tabung Bencana Negeri Johor for the purchase of PPE is in response to the current shortage of medical equipment that our front liners and public hospitals are facing particularly in states out of the Klang Valley area due to the severity of the Covid-19 outbreak.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we are committed in helping to limit the spread and impact of Covid-19 and most importantly, keeping our front liners safe. We will continue to support the government and foster active collaborations with other relevant stakeholders in support of the war against this pandemic.

Our front liners and hospitals are the unsung heroes in helping us navigate through these challenging times. They are in need of immediate support amid the spike in Covid-19 cases nationwide  particularly in Johor. We are doing our part to support the government’s call for corporations to play a more active role in fighting this pandemic. We hope with this contribution, we can ease the burden of our front liners and provide our hospitals with the supplies they need to do their job.

As a responsible property developer, we not only strive to build the best developments for our customers, but we are also committed in contributing to the wellbeing of the surrounding community,” elaborated Mah Sing’s Chief Operating Officer, Benjamin Ong.

Mah Sing and MSF recently pledged 20 units of heavy-duty critical-care ventilators worth RM3.9millon to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA). The Foundation also played a role in responding to the initial outbreak in Wuhan, China, by contributing RM100,000 worth of medical supplies to medical institutions in the city of Wuhan. This was in collaboration with Malaysia relief organisation #OpsHarapan, which had direct access to hospitals there.

Founded in 2005, MSF strives to make lasting changes in the lives of the underserved community with key focus in Malaysia by forging sustainable strategic collaborations with various stakeholders to make this change a reality. In 2019 alone, MSF has supported over 40 schools and NGOs, whilst impacting over 23,000 individuals.

Mah Sing has over 50 projects in Greater Kuala Lumpur, Klang Valley, Penang, Johor, and Sabah and is one of Malaysia’s fully integrated developers with residential, commercial, hospitality and industrial developments. The Group is best known for crafting homes and finding innovative ways to deliver products and services that are of high quality and excellence.
