FEDEX MALAYSIA INTRODUCE COUNTRY'S FIRST STOP SOLUTION FOR DANGEROUS GOODS SHIPPMENTS | FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced the company now provides a one-stop solution for dangerous goods shipments to further enhance connectivity of the southern Malaysia region to the world.

The first of its kind nationwide service is now available at the Senai Gateway in Johor

This solution allows customers the convenience of an end-to-end shipping experience. Shipments are packed, labelled and shipped via FedEx. All classes of dangerous goods for this service are accepted, except those categorized under class 1 explosive and class 7 radioactive materials.

To utilize the one stop dangerous goods service, customers must ensure that their dangerous goods is in full compliance with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) dangerous goods requirements prior to shipment via the International Priority (IP) and International Priority Freight (IPF).

In addition to the one-stop dangerous goods service enhancement, the Senai Gateway
will provide customers with other service benefits:
  • A one-day transit time improvement for TNT inbound Worldwide shipments to Johor
  • A one-day transit time improvement for TNT Economy Express shipments on the Asia Road Network (ARN) from Thailand to Johor

SC Chong, Managing Director of FedEx Express Malaysia said, “As the first logistics provider in Malaysia to offer the dangerous goods one-stop solution, this serves as another way to highlight our long-term investment in the country. We are committed to meet the evolving needs of our customers by facilitating shipments of materials required to propel their businesses.

This facility has proven to be timely, as we are also playing our part in managing dangerous goods shipment for essential items such as hand sanitizers, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. We also see this enhanced service as a way to support firms of all sizes, from micro- SMEs to large enterprises, as they expand their international footprint.”

Johor is poised to become an economic powerhouse as the state alone has attracted RM93 billion in investments in the manufacturing sector, the highest generated in the country from 2013 to 2016.

The Senai Gateway is the second newest facility by FedEx in Johor, following the Johor Station in Iskandar Puteri.

“At its core, FedEx continuously looks at ways to create possibilities for our customers
by improving our network in Malaysia,” Chong said.
